Services Provided
The primary purpose of Educare funding is to improve the quality of care provided by DSS subsidized child care providers, especially the family, friend and neighbor child care providers. The latest research on brain development shows that the care a child receives during the first five years of life, with birth to three years of age being the most critical, impacts a child's potential for future learning. Our target population is the DSS subsidized providers caring for children from birth to under six years of age. Every child care program must serve at least one child receiving subsidy support to participate with Project REACH, and approved child care centers must have at least 50% of their children receiving subsidy support.
